CORPORATE PURCHASE OF 4,324.5 ACRES OF DEAD
                            BIRMINGHAM DRAINAGE DISTRICT

              ORIGINAL DISTRICT ENCOMPASSED 5,390 ACRES
When the LDS Church purchased the majority of the land within the boundaries of the
original drainage district, it would have discovered the title to the land adjoining the
Birmingham levee was clouded. The dead district supervisors had failed to file the
condemnation order and levee plat with the County Recorder of Deeds as required by
law.

That would have lead the lawyers to the circuit court records where they would have
discovered the district was dead. The Secretary of State would have confirmed the fact.
